Economics Enrichment

Stephanie Shwiff along with Julie Elser and Katy Kirkpatrick from the National Wildlife Research Center came in today and provided an awesome economics enrichment! We all enjoyed their presentation on wildlife control and loved that they allowed us to have a feel of what it is like to be an economist at the National Wildlife Research Center! Thanks for connecting with our unit! Be sure to ask your child more about this fun event!

First Auction

We had our first auction today! I had a blast as the auctioneer and the kids had fun purchasing! The jury is out as to who enjoyed it more! :). Wylie made the most expensive purchase and has bought my desk for a day. Here he is giving it a trial run for the afternoon! :)

Miss Skillman led our first TIMe for Kids section and did a great job teaching the students about the changes in school lunches!

Should students get paid Socratic seminar

Ask your kids about the news clip they saw on students getting paid for good grades! We took a poll in our class and 19 of the students in our class thought students should not get paid for good grades.

Today Mr. Baietti came in to share how he uses economics daily as a contractor! it was wonderful to have him in to enrich our unit! We enjoyed listening to him speak and then had a rich discussion in the afternoon on the knowledge he shared with us! Thanks again Mr. Baietti!
