Another Great Week
Another great week packed full of fun and learning! This week we started a mind map that we added to at the end of each day to review what we did that day as well as so far for the week. This routine wraps up our day and I quickly ask students to tell me what to write. Please excuse the sloppy writing as I write really quickly as the students shout out their thoughts! I didn't want to post such a sloppy picture, but the class said they would like me to post a picture of the mind map on the blog so here goes! I will keep it much neater next week! :) In addition I'm adding some pictures of our hallway display where the students' work will be displayed throughout the year. Whenever you are in the building look for your child's learner profile block and check out their latest writing displayed underneath!
Go Rams
Another beautiful day at Bennett! I didn't see anyone in CU gear today so I hope it is safe to say - "Go Rams!" :)

Words their Way
Words their way is an excellent program we are using for word study this year. This program allows for students to have spelling words based on their developmental level. If you have any questions about the program ask your student or feel free to send questions my way!

An inquiry into Nutrition
Your child's questions drive our unit of inquiry! So far we have discussed our own nutrition which led to questions about how much access others have to great food. Today we watched a Holding Hope Against Hunger segment to learn more. Ask your students about how the segment made them feel!
Morning Journal & Math Lesson
Today's morning journal topic was: Sometimes I wish...
Today's math lesson covered regular polygons and the use of compasses.
Art for specials and then Colorado History! What a busy morning! :)

Staying Cool with Great Books
After finishing their word sorts early the students enjoyed a few minutes of quiet reading. They were so into their books that most of them didn't even realize I took a couple of pictures!

Homework Packets
It has been another beautiful day at Bennett! I am attaching pictures of the homework packet your kiddos are bringing home tonight. The first packet is a family letter for you to use as you help your students through the week. The next photo highlights the days written in the corner. This is the ideal pacing for the work, but as mentioned before you can game plan with your child if you have events during the week! The whole packet should be returned as one on Friday. Let me know if you have any questions at all!

Essential Agreements
Your smart scholars came up with these agreements through an activity we worked on yesterday! These were ALL their ideas! I just simply helped them arrange it into sentences. Be proud parents/guardians!

Snack & Water Bottles
Parents,
Quick reminder - please feel free to send water bottles with students as the room has been pretty warm. Also snacks are welcome, but students will be working while eating so simple snacks are better. Please keep in mind food allergies of other students as you select your snacks as well! Thanks and see you tomorrow!
