Reading over winter break!

It is never too early to think about reading over the winter break! :). Today I started setting page guides and printing out AR tests for students who plan on reading larger novels over break. Some of the AR questions are detailed so we can print them out so students can circle answers as them finish the book so they don't forget the details! I am trusting your reflective IB learners to decide if this is something they want utilize! Let me know if you have any questions!

Stats from Jep

Jep just shared a great stat with the students! When we convey an idea 7% of meaning comes from the words we use, 55% comes from our body language, and 38% comes from our tone of voice!

Today I posted the following prompt on the board before I started reading Kingdom Keepers (authored by Ridley Pearson who spoke at the GT conference):
"As you hear powerful words or phrases write them here..."
This class never ceases to amaze me! They filled the entire board with the rich vocabulary they heard!

After school some of the teachers took a tour of Quatrix an aquaponics facility in Laporte. I am looking forward to once this becomes a reality at Bennett!

NAGC Conference

Another great day at the conference! I absolutely loved the inspiring advice from Ridley Pearson author of Kingdom Keepers! The sessions have been fantastic and it is truly amazing to be surrounded by so many great minds who are passionate about our field!
